You are bidding on a
fantastic old/vintage ceramic art pottery wine stein that was imported from Germany.
The figurine stein is of a young nude female. The only covering she
has in the front is a grape cluster and a cape covering her back. The pewter lid is her cap. It has
a label on the bottom that reads: Original King / Made in Germany/ Hand made / Hand painted.
There is text on both sides of the stein, one side reads: Sind Die Besten
Zeit-vertreiber. The other side reads: Alter Wein Und Junge Weiber. Rough
translation from a German dictionary: That which is the best to pass the time /old
age, wine and young woman.
Condition:
Very good condition.
The only flaws are a little bit of
discoloration to the lid and some spotting to the foot rim (see photos at AM
Treasures). This is a beautiful quality piece of German art pottery.
Great for decoration and use.
